| SteveG | Re: el84; use nc-pins as soldering points? I just bought an amp in 'not working' condition, where an output valve had developed an internal short to an unused pin. The amp in question used the corresponding tag as a soldering terminal, causing the fuse to blow when powered up. So...I would avoid this practise, although it's quite commonly done. Steve. |
