anonRe: Fender Amp Question: Moving the OT.
Whenever you run leads carrying current, shielding is ineffective, as it's only a shield against electrostatic induction.

Do twist your leads, the three primary ones together, and the output leads together. Direction doesn't matter, just make them tight and consistent.

Grab the end of the leads with a pair of pliers and twist them until you have them as tight as possible without physically damaging them.

Heat shrink or wrap with tape if they keep unravelling. Dress them as far away from input leads as possible.

When you resolder the connections, make sure all are exactly where they came from. If reversed, you will have severe problems with the negative feedback loop, and the amp will self oscillate.
