IIRC you'll make a lot of heat, lower your damping factor (going from the complex V/I/f dynamics of a real speaker to a resistor for 1/2 of your load) You won't break anything if you select an over-rated resistor - and you might like it. I'd suggest saving up for a pair of 8-ohm replacements or - better yet - acquiring a second (identical) cab. Good luck
