Hey... good deal. I paid about $150 for just the head.

The distort pot will do absolutely nothing normally, as it is wired to be normally off. I take it you didn't get a footswitch in this deal.

On the back panel, the L/R phono plug set labled for the distortion footswitch, the "L" plug needs to be grounded to get the distort to work. I have a "shorting" RCA plug plugged into mine. The "R" side of this set, works in conjunction with the distort control and is a boost function... which is normally on. If you ground this side, the distort knob will also control the maximum amount of boost - more distort, less boost.

Don't rip the top cover off the head... the reverb pan is screwed to the top and the wires from it to the PC board are short. Make sure you connect them up securely as you put it back together... as the head will squeal something terrible if they are left unconnected.
