Re: Filament Wire - stranded vs solid?
While we're on the topic of wire, what's the difference between stranded and solid wire? I know the stranded stuff is more flexible and therefore easier to work with, but is there any performance difference?

I walked to work yesterday for the first time in a while (man I'm getting lazy) and on my way past the Nortel Networks building I found a huge box of wire waiting next to the dumpster. Gauges range from 10 to 20 AWG, but it's all in sections of 10 feet or less (which I imagine is why they chucked it). The wire is stranded, but not the finely stranded stuff, it has fewer but thicker strands. Anyway, I'm sure it'll work fine so I packed the whole box the rest of the way to the office :-) Hundreds of feet of wire in that thing. I love silicon valley... well, sometimes.
