marshall filter cap question

dale	marshall filter cap question i have a 87' [only year made] marshall silver jubilee combo. the amp has very little use, and has the original filter caps. my question is do filter caps degrade with age if they arent used? this amp literally has only about 3-5 years normal use and is mint. would i therefore consider cap replacement they same way i would if the amp were 3-5 years old and having been used regularly? also, besides noise, which the amp is void of, are there any other symrtoms of worn filter caps? thanks,-dale
