My neighbor has a bunch of old jukeboxes and I helped him work on one from 1949. It's was a very simple crude amp, not much in it. One thing it had that I've never seen before is a transformer instead of a tube as a phase inverter. I know this would be costly to use instead of a tube, but does it add any reliablity or sonic advantages?
