dale | opinions please a few people answered one of the 2 questions i posed in the post about marshall filter caps, but no one answered the 2nd, more important one---it's an 87 marshall with the typical 50/50/500 caps, and they're dated 87 so they are indeed original. however, the amp has no hum and has had little use, so i'm wondering if i need to replace them. i guess the deeper question is, do they dry up over time even if they're not used, or used very little? or is it the heat in the amp that ages them? and can they be bad without any maladies such as hum, yet cause tonal degradation? thanks,-dale |
