| T.B. | Re: Gibson Minuteman ISO tone Hi Eric, I checked my schematic and it definitely has 3 6eu7's and 2 12au7's. V1,3&4 are 6EU7's, V2&5 are 12AU7's. Last two are EL84's. I'll be happy to email you the schematic I have. Let me know. As far as the sustain and feedback, I played a Gibson ES335, being hollow, it had no problem feeding back and/or sustaining. It was kind of neat in an odd sort of way. I wasn't sure what was happening, only been playing about a year and a half. Back in 1966 I had no pedals. Straight in was all you got. On weekends we'd go see bands in Pensacola that were into the psychodelic thing and talk about wailing!!! That was just before I'd heard of Hendrix. I was brought up on cleaner rock music without all the distortion, etc, etc. So it was a big change for me. Where we practiced the room had linoleum floors and not much furnishings, had accoustic ceiling tile, so sounded pretty good, very lively. Memories are funny and sometimes, we may remember things the way we think we should and not really the way they were. But close is good. We only walk down that road once and at age 53, it's been a long road (long and winding?) What type of speaker are you thinking about? I've still got the original as well. Different speakers will undoubtedly have different results. Does your amp actually say GA-20RVT? Mine has a tube chart pasted inside the cabinet along with the schematic. Possibly there was some variation. It's also possible that someone put in the extra 12AU7 by mistake. You'll have to verify that with the schematic. Let me know if I can be of any help. Best of luck, T.B. |
