These are typical of mid '60s Gibson amps...They sound weak/sterile, and look like they were wired by 5 year olds. The goofy amp you mentioned has a tranformer phase inverter. These are a far cry from the great Gibson amps of the '50s and very early '60s that produce some of the greatest raunchy tweed tones I've ever heard.
