I even did the 12 hours Weber method where you bring the things up like 10V an hour or something.. Pain in the ass and I see/hear no difference in how well those caps work. I always have gear I'm working on plugged into the variac so I can see what's going on V wise and I wise (it's metered) so that's all the forming we do around here. Just a quick run up the first time I turn it on - and that's really just to check for problems, not form caps. You can bet that amp mfrs don't have the chassis sitting around forming caps.. !!
