He just turned the amps on an away he went! Now I'm not saying it's a bad thing or a good thing to do. A variac is a good thing (trying to find one with a volt & current meters) but here's an interesting theory. If someone has a few amps (as most of us do) and we do not play a couple for a few months ... do we reform the caps with a variac or do we just turn the amps on and wait a minute before playing? I would think most of us (and people who are not techies) just turn the amp on and play. I could be way of base on this. Trace
