Preamp for single-ended EL84 recording amp?

Carlos	Preamp for single-ended EL84 recording amp? Hi everybody!     I have looked at the AX84 schematics, but I would like to put in a preamp like in the Matchless amps. Or would a plexi preamp sound better?   I guess the AX84 preamp does not have too much gain.   I want a mixture of preamp and power amp distortion.   Any recommendations?     Regards     Carlos
