dale | Re: Swapping Preamp Tubes ray, your comments make sense to me from what i have experienced. i always felt that when swapping a u7 or t7 for an x7 in my marshalls, even if they did change the tone in the way i wanted, it just never seemed quite right. like something wasn't letting the amp deliver the quality of tone i'm used to in the amp. the biasing of the pre tube would explain this. so i would venture to guess you're correct about this. dale |
