It looks like an EVM and has a cambric (treated cloth / accordion) edge, but to me it sounds very balanced without any of the high-treble rasp that Celestion PE (paper-edge, all Celestions currently made are PE) speakers have. You don't notice it as much until you switch back and forth between the two. This rasp goes away (to your ear, not a microphone!) at higher volumes. They also sell a 10DF that is the same speaker in a 10" cone size. They are not very expensive, handle 150 watts, and sound great. Ray Ivers
