| kPreston | Hum...Great Tone i've got a BFPrinceton Reverb with great tone, but it Hums. i've replaced the filter can and even tried descrete filter Caps. i've narrowed the Hum to the Tone stack preamp. when i short either side of the 3.3mohm resistor, the amps very quiet. i've resoldered the grounds. otherwise the amp is great. with the vol control at 0, the amp hums a little, but with the vol at 5 the amp is quiet and then hums again as the vol is turned up past 5. the vol and bass interact to move to quiet point and as the bass is turned up the amp Hums more. i've tried different tubes in the tone stack (7025, 12AX7A). i've balanced the Phase Inverter and output stage. any suggestions. -kp- |
