Bluesbreaker headroom

Gary	Bluesbreaker headroom Hi once more I find myself in need of guidance from the ampage supertecs. My friend complained to me about the lack of headroom in his Bluesbreaker, that it distorts at about 3/4 volume, to me this is normal but he would like to me to clean it up a little more without loosing any volume.The only thing I could come up with was to change the pre-amp tubes to 12at7's which would provide less gain and along with this the unwanted side effect of a little less volume. Any suggestions that could help me with this request. Thanks Gary
