I, too, own a bunch of Fender amps of varying sizes. Unfortunately, I often find that even the smallest of the bunch is too loud for the small (but not tiny) club I usually play in, unless I keep the volume at no more than 4 or maybe sometimes 5. Therefore, a good overdrive pedal is essential for allowing me to get the sustain and harmonics I want for playing blues/rock type guitar solos.
