Set the amp volume for your distorted lead sound and us the EQ pedal to turn it down rather than boost the signal. This gives you your natural amp tone for leads and also gives you the option of EQing your rhythm sound a little different. EQ's work really great as a boost but don't forget they also cut. Blues
