Re: how many of you guys OD pedals?

Hi
Re: how many of you guys OD pedals?
It really depends on what sound or "feeling" for the piece of music. I prefer to play an old Marshall or BF Fender with no effects, or with a hint of delay and maybe a little chorus for a few things, but I really don't use dost/OD much anymore. OTOH, I find that using a '69 pedal as a fuzz box but set up a little smoother, it smooths out the harshness of modern high-gain amps, and actually makes it more palatable instead of louder or higher gain. Sometimes I use the '69 with the volume knob cranked down on the guitar, so the effect cleans up into just a slight OD, rarely as a fuzz with an old amp. I just like the amps, mostly, but I use other stuff. I used to just crank the amp up to "10" and always control the volume from the guitar, but I find I like the tone of mast tube amps around 7 or 7 and a half; doesn't seem to matter much what brand they are, they all seem to have the balance I like of gain to tone around there.
