I've used hammond OT's before and want impressed, but the PT's seem very good for the price. I personally use BFDR ot's for my 5y3 clones, with good results. What OT are you using? Also, have you experimented with adding in some NFB, I've considered putting in a switch to add nf, or run it stock.. Also, try using a 12av7 instead of the 12ay7... the difference ingain will be very minor, and you can get them dirt cheap frm angela... NOS military tubes, havent found a microphonic one yet..
