    You are probably right about those parts being diodes (reverse biased, with the cathode stripe towards pin #3- right?). There is not much else that would be installed between the plates and ground...

P.S. Those diodes should be optional; I believe that they are supposed to help with voltage spikes or something like that to make the amp more bulletproof... at least until the diodes fail! I have heard of using 2 or 3 reverse-biased 1N4007's in series to ground on the plates; does anybody know the specs for the SR2873?
