| Keith | Re: Princeton Reverb distorts at low volume levels Thanks everyone for your input. I meant the PT was getting very hot not the OT, sorry. Sounds like this may be normal. Here's what I found: 1. The speaker IS shot. 2. Still some undesirable sounds after 30 mins even with different speakers. I'll get the cap job done and hope that solves it. 3. The tube chart says AA764 and calls for a GZ34. I believe it should read AA1164. The original schematic that came with it also calls for a GZ34. Questions: 1. Can I use a 5U4GB without mods? I refuse to mod my Fenders. Leo got it right the first time IMHO. 2. Any suggestions for a speaker replacement? I play blues mostly. 3. The original speaker is a Jenson and sounds great (except at very low volumes where the problem appears). Is it worth a reconing? Thanks again! Keith |
