It can make an amp sound less articulate and 'airy'. Where the AC30 is concerned, increasing the filter capacitance beyond the original values tends to detract from the sound of the amp. It is common knowledge that modding the Korg/Marshall repro units by reverting to the original filter capacitance, coupled with installation of a good set of tubes, is the quickest means of making these nice amps sound convincingly original and fabulous.
