Around here I can find Marshalls marked at those prices, or lower in many stores and walk out with one for a bit less. Plus, I haven't seen price differences between JCM800s and Mk II's. If you're in the market for one of these amps, definitely check out ebay and Harmony-Central and be patient and you should get a decent deal. If you're going to mod one anyways, look for ones with limited mods that lower their value and just go in and fix the bad mods before moving on to adding your own. A couple of years ago I swapped a Mesa/Boogie DC-3 combo for my '79 2203 half-stack...best deal I ever made. I should find a logo for the head though. Anyone got one? Ross
