If that's the case you're getting about 6.4 volts. The voltages are a little high but not out of line considering the 121VAC line input. Did you check voltages before you did the upgrade work? I don't know what's causing your raspy noise, but I don't think replacing the power tranny is it. A waste of your hard earned $ at this point. Hope this helps a little. Daver
