I'm trying like hell! (ha, ha) Keeping up with you, Randall, Doc, Graywater, Rick E, Speedracer, Carl (and all the others I'm forgetting at the moment) is pretty hard!!! (ha, ha) I try to learn something new everyday. That's my goal at least.

A Marshall doesn't sound like a Marshall to me unless they have EL34's in there. I do like the sound of a good pair of KT66's in an older JTM-45 but it's hard for mos people to find true KT66's.

I agree totally, it makes all the difference in the world! Some pickups are over wound and this gets over looked a lot I think, especially when you are goosing the amp for a bit more gain. It al depends in the guitar the person will be using.

I've found that to be the case also. Many people feel the JCM800 can sound like the older plexi's but to my ears thay very different.

The new ones are built so cheesy. I couldn't think of a better word to describe them so I figured "Tinker Toy" would sort fo get the idea across. (ha, ha)
