Effect Of Chokes On Tone?

Ethan | Effect Of Chokes On Tone? Hi Everyone, I wanted to get some opinions on the importance of chokes in amp design. It seems that most cool amps have them (Marshall's, Fenders, better high gain amps) while some less expensive amps don't, instead they have a big resistor. Can any improvement in sound be gained by changing this resistor to a choke? It seems like some "chokeless" amps are lacking in bass, just my imagination? Thanks in advance, Ethan W. |
