| MKB | Re: Teflon is the proven polymer Teflon PCB's are used in some high end equipment, as a optional upgrade to some >10K$ Mark Levinson stereo preamps, and a multilayer teflongold PCB is used in the Cray supercomputer. I have a sheet of 116" Teflon that I plan to use in the future. It is indeed flimsy and would require a lot of support. As a test, I punched the sheet and installed a copper rivet and then removed the nail, it seemed to work and solder fine. Teflon is probably the material of choice for those that want to get anal with silver wire, non-magnetic component leads, noninductive resistors, silver foil caps, silver transformers, copper chassis, etc, etc, $$$$$$! |
