I think it soudns like a camel's butt (ha, ha---couldn't resist) I agree with Richie when ti comes to the sound of this amp as well as working on it. It's pretty much a SLO-100 with a few changes. When you think about the F>U>C>K> album was done mostly with a SLO and that's when he was working with Peavey on designin his own amp. Hmmmm (ha, ha) When most people say the "brown sound" they are usually refering to the first album, Van Halen #1. He used the same rig for the first 5 albums but things change as Rebel420 mentioned. Move a microphone a 1/2" and the tone will change radically! Trace
