Rustoleum and Transformers
I have an OT and PT that have a very small amount of pitting and rust on the outside. One of Gerald Weber's books describes using Rustoleum paint to stabilize the oxidation, but warns not to get it on the windings or the insulating material. I want to be sure I do this right: can I safely paint the outside of the trannies with no problems? It has removable covers (end bells? is that what they're called?) so no insulating material or windings are exposed (right?) Also, inside the removable covers, there is a small location of oxidation--safe to cover this up with rustoleum too?

I'm just now getting into amp building (as my budget allows)...any advice on this Rustoleum matter would be much appreciated!
