I agree with Southpaw on this issue... I agree with Southpaw on this issue. I do not "hear" any audible differences either. Ken Fisher does claim there is a difference in the "top-end" for the reasons you already listed. Again, I do not hear a difference.     Marshall switched over to Steel becaue the Aluminum chassis' were buckling under the weight of the trannies. Sooooo take that for what it's worth.       Trace
