Mike, I am by no means as competent to answer as others hanging out here but..  
 
I have read here that Hammond transformers are very conservatively rated at full power and full frequency band. It was suggested that a Hammond OT rated at 30W would be very sufficient for 50W output, so you might want to consider the Hammond 1645 @ 5k Z.  
 
If you are going to use a tube rectifier you need to count on some volage drop as well, whereas a solid state recitifier will have negligable drop. I think 530V will exceed the recommended plate voltage for a 6L6 but if you use a tube rectifier you can expect maybe 30-50V drop. Having said this I think a good NOS 6L6 can withstand some higher plate voltage as long as you do not exceed teh dissipation ratings. An EL34 wouldnt mind that voltage.
