SteveRRe: Dual Triode Output section?
Couldn't find it with Duncan's TDSL, and I seem to have misplace my GE Essential Characteristics.

But, the idea I had originally was to design a low powered amp that used the same tube type throughout. This would be for convenience. Just buy a whole bunch and you've always got a spare. That's why I was wondering about maybe 12au7 because you can get a bunch of them anywhere. It might kind of defeat the purpose to require an obscure tube type.

Could the 6y7 function as preamp, driver, and splitter as well? I like Randall's idea of the 6N1P because, although, not as common as 12a*7 types, it's currently in production and probably not too hard to get. At about eight bucks, it's cheaper than some similar types.
