Primary z of output transformers

Primary z of output transformers
I was wondering if someone could explain to me how to select the proper primary impedence for an output transformer. I'm under the impression that different tubes have different output impedences, is this correct? What I was looking to do is be able to be able to use a very wide variety of tubes (with bias adj) from 6L6's & EL-34's to 6550's & KT88's. I'll have (2) of whatever tubes I choose but how do I equate the proper primary z for transformer I need to purchase?

Much Thanks, Greg
