| SteveR | Dual Triode Output section? Is there a reason you couldn't use, say, a 12a?7 as a push pull output section for a low power amp? I was just reading Mook's old post about his "Moonlight" project being quite loud at 1 watt, and I was wondering how to get really low power. It seems like for a practice or travel amp it could be very cool. You could get everything into a very small package, and only have to worry about obtaining one tube type. I think I've seen this discussed before, but I didn't read any of the posts. I suppose for even lower power it would be best to run a single triode for output or maybe the dual triode in parallel SE. Has anyone ever done this? Is this reaching the lameness point of the all-out-low-power-amp-sound trend? |
