choke in Plexi homebrew

rok | choke in Plexi homebrew I was slightly concerned with the choke that I used for a homebrew 100 watt Plexi amplifier...the PT is a 65 Twin Reverb...the OT is stock 100 watt Marshall...the choke is the one that is the replacement for a 100 watt Twin, Showman, etc...plate V on power tubes (4 el34's) = 432 vdc...they are idling at 36-40 ma...All seems OK...but I noticed that the choke is getting slightly warm (not even close to hot)...is this normal?...or...should I install the higher "henry" rated Marshall choke?...thanx in advance Frank. |
