Re: Homebuilt JTM 45
I have a VA's in a traynor bassmaster thats been modded to JTM specs. They sound great, but one tube has a fairly noticeable mechanical rattle.
The word is that they can take a good dose of tube current; They sound very crystalline-clean biased to ~ 60% of max plate dissipation, lots better crunch and harmonics biased up to 70+% of plate diss. I'd suggest if you try them to buy from someone who screens 'em well. The first pair I got had a dud, although I was able to exchange them.
