I thought I'd start a new thread about topic. Can this setup still work if you're using a bias trem circuit? Anything that needs to be addressed with this? Also what about an amp that is cathode biased? I guess you're stuck with an AC coupled stage, but would using cathode followers help in the grid blocking? I'm asking this because my little amp has a split load into a pair of cathode biased el84's I've got a B+ of 300vdc with 44ma per tube, and I'm getting a really ugly crossover dist when pushed hard. I've noticed that the grid of the tube being coupled from the cathode side of the inverter has a nice looking wave, but the side being fed by the plate gets really distorted with a very ugly wave. Maybe just add a CF to the plate side of the inv?
