| T.B. | Common Screen Grid Resistor In my YBA-1 Bassmaster amp, there is one 470 ohm 10 watt resistor supplying both screen grids. (two EL-34 tubes) Any comments on this setup? Anything to making the current between the two tubes more equal, etc. by having a common resistor? I plan to take the advice I've read on this board and replace the 470 ohm with 1K (one 5 watt to each tube). But for the sake of conversation, what would be the problem of having only one 1k 10 watt resistor supplying both tubes? Say in the event one tube goes bad? Thanks - T.B. |
