| Todd | EE Q: What about Matchless DC-30 Switching? Boy, that sounds like an awful lot to worry about! I was planning on going cathode-biased, so maybe I'm approaching this the wrong way. Rather than using a PT with two different VAC secondary taps, would it be easier to use a single B+ and use a cathode-to-ground DPDT switch like Matchless DC-30's use? I want to use four 6V6's but have the option of high/low power switching (or half-power switching as some companies call it). If I remember right, the switch ungrounds one pair of push-pull output tubes and gives half power. I have some clues how this works, but can anyone give me an explanation? Thanks Carl and anyone else who responds! TJK |
