SFDR ticking

SFDR ticking
74 sfdr converted to bf. Has the common tremolo ticking. I have redressed the leads, added a .008mf cap across the LDR and this has resolved the ticking. But at intensity setting less than 8 the tremolo can't be heard, and at intensity 10 the output of the channel is attenuated but tremolo functions normally. I have tried a .047, .022, .01 and .005 caps and the ticking reurns. The ticking has a high frequency component that is eliminated by all caps tried but the low frequency component is only eliminated by the .008 cap. Should I remelt the board wax, and if so could someone describe this proceedure, or is there any other suggestions.

Thanks

Carl
