Steve | No Plate Resistors ?????????? Hi Folks, I'm working on a Peavey 5150 head(EVH). The problem is one pair of the power tubes is glowing red, (one worse than the other). The tubes are new(STR6L6GC). The main fuse had blown, replaced, holds fine until standby is thrown and tube plates glow after about 40 seconds. Plate voltage is +/- 460v, bias is -55v. The one tube that is the worst, has the pc board connections covered by the speaker output connector. To get to the subject, I got the schematic of the net, and looking at the amp, there are no plate resistors! WHY? and HOW does this work? Thanks for the help. Steve |
