| lion | Re: Cathode follower drive to output tubes Thanks for the fast replies! Randall. Sounds like it would be worth a try. I’m not sure about the extra 300mA load on the filament supply though. I don’t have the specs on the PT – it’s from an old Selmer amp with 4 x 12ax7’s – which is also what I have now. Would it seriously damage anything to give it a try, or could I in anyway verify if it’s feasible? The alternative would be a seperat filament transformer for the extra tube - I guess. Regarding the negative supply to the cathode resistor. Is it OK with –50V, otherwise I could tap off the bias supply at an earlier stage (–77V) maybe in a parrallel line with a small dropping resistor and a cap – how much additional filtering would be needed? Last thing - what’s the value of the cathode resistor. Thanks and sorry for all the questions. RG ??? – could you elaborate a little on this one. Thanks. Regards Lion |
