Vitamin Q and coupling cap polarity

Vitamin Q and coupling cap polarity
I read somewhere that Orange Drops have a "polarity" and that years ago they were marked with a black band at one end. With this in mind, a couple of questions for youse gurus:

1.) When using these caps for coupling, I've read that the black band should go to the most negative part of the circuit. So, should the black band go towards the plate of the previous stage instead of the grid of the next stage? I'm pretty sure that's it, but I want to make sure.

2.) Someone gave me some NOS Sprague Vitamin Q caps and I'm going to use these for coupling. They kind of look like miniature 'lytics; that is, they have one lead thats part of the casing and the other lead seems insulated from the casing. I suppose I should think of the insulated end as the + and that the - end should be connected to the most negative point in the coupling circuit, as outlined in #1 above. Is this right?

Thanks in advance, guys. I do a lot of lurking here and have learned a great deal, though from the above questions there are still some simple things that I haven't really committed to memory yet.

Cheers,

Don
