The RCA blackplates and "real" RCA 7025's are the best of that line when you can find them. Smooth & quiet. Mullard is also a great 12AX7 and they'll last FOREVER compared to most others. But they have a different tone than the RCA's. "Trust your ears" when it comes to deciding what's "best".
