what is the pupose of this resistor?

| Ricky | what is the pupose of this resistor? some amps have this resistor and and some don't. it's the resistor in the phase inverter that connects the 10k and .1uf cap(in fenders) to the ground. there's a schematic on this website called "the lark" in which the values are 6k8 and .1uf and are connected to the ground via a 1k5 resistor. what does this resistor do?
