I have looked for these in the past and couldn't find them at Home Depot or Ace Hardware in my area. I have found that with Kester #44 solder that the steel rivets solder up just fine but had problems when I tried to use Radio Shack solder. So the secret seems to be in the rosin. Since then, I have tried some tin plated brass rivets from Mouser and quite frankly, they don't work any better than the Ace Hardware steel rivets. They are smaller in diameter with larger holes so I'll probably continue to use them, but steel rivets can definitely be used to make a nice amp.
