It works . . . but I think I have a bad PT
Hello all,

Well, I got this thing finished (it took a bit of time to fit everything in such a small chassis!), but it blows fuses when it warms up. My guess is it's the PT because it blows them as soon as I turn it on without the tubes installed. Up until then, it sounds really good; it'll be a great practice amp.

For those who are interested, with the 470 Ohm resistor I get the following stats:

Primary voltage: 115
B+: 396

6L6 draws about 52.5 mA, which gives me about 20.79 watts static dissipation. Sounds fine here, but I might tinker with it a bit once I get the other problem solved.

BTW, is there any way to resurrect a defective tranny? I know it's probably false economy, but I might disassemble this one just to see how they are made.

Cheers,

Don
