| Don | B+ for 5F2-A Princeton I know some of you have built these, but I can't locate the old posts. Are the archives accessible? If not, I have a couple of questions: 1.) What's the B+ in a vintage 5F2-A? There aren't any voltages notated in on the schematic in Funk's book. 2.) I'm going to use a 6L6 in the output instead of a 6V6. The trannies I'm using are out of an old Bogen PA that had a single-ended 6L6 arrangement. It had a 2 watt, 270 Ohm cathode resistor, but I plan to up the wattage rating a bit to keep it cooler. Anyway, I know there are other factors, but does this seem like a ballpark Ohm rating for a single, cathode-biased 6L6? It should at least give me a good staring point, right? 3.) Any suggestions from those of you who have built this circuit? Thanks in advance. Cheers, Don |
